Mental Health Monday – Shifting the Paradigm: From PTSD to Post Traumatic Growth

Carol Landauer, LPC will explore the idea of narrowing the lens of the mental illness paradigm and expanding the lens of human experience – integrating trauma, suffering, and the hardcore tribulations of life into the natural course of existence. Ms. Landauer will speak to the powerful potential for positive growth hidden within the pain of living.

Medically Retired Sergeant (USMC) Jason Supple will share his story of five tours of duty overseas that ultimately compelled him to leave his ‘old life’ behind and discover ways to create a ‘new’ life of meaning, purpose and joy amidst ongoing efforts to adapt to difficult, unremitting challenges. Two of his tours were combat tours in Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Jason and his family relocated to the Verde Valley in the summer of 2017. He is the proud owner of Ardent K9 Training, LLC, a disabled Veteran owned business. Jason and his wife, Kim, offer an inspiring, life-affirming message.

Presented free and open to the public by Mental Health Coalition Verde Valley in partnership with OLLI. For information call 928-649-0135 or email blitrell@aol.com.
